Instructions
1. Bake the pie crust
- Preheat oven according to pie crust package directions.
- Bake the crust until golden brown.
- Let it cool completely before filling.
2. Make the glaze
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together:
- sugar
- cornstarch
- water
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and becomes clear.
3. Add the Jell-O
- Remove the saucepan from heat.
- Stir in the strawberry Jell-O until fully dissolved.
- Let the mixture cool for about 10–15 minutes (slightly warm is fine, but not hot).
4. Prepare the strawberries
- Arrange the halved strawberries in the cooled pie crust.
5. Assemble the pie
- Pour the glaze evenly over the strawberries.
- Gently spread so all berries are coated.
6. Chill
- Refrigerate for at least 3–4 hours, or until set.
Serving
Serve chilled with whipped cream.
Optional additions
- Add a few blueberries for color.
- Brush whole strawberries with extra glaze for a glossy bakery look.
- Use a homemade butter crust for a richer flavor.
