Fill the Apples
Take a small amount of brown sugar and place it inside the hollowed cavity of each apple.
Add a small pat of butter on top of the sugar. The butter will melt during cooking, combining with the sugar to create a rich syrup.
Arrange in the Slow Cooker
Place the apples upright in the slow cooker. If your slow cooker is small, stack them carefully, but avoid overcrowding to allow steam to circulate.
Cooking Time
Cover and cook on low for 3–4 hours or until the apples are tender when pierced with a fork. High heat can be used if short on time, but slow cooking brings out maximum flavor.
Serving Suggestions
Serve as is for a naturally sweet dessert.
Pair with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an indulgent touch.
Drizzle the natural juices collected in the slow cooker over the apples as a sauce.
Tips for Perfection
Choose apples that are firm, as softer varieties can collapse during slow cooking.
Avoid overfilling the slow cooker to ensure even cooking.
